Mr. Donald Joseph Chesner, 78, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Olean, NY on November 26, 1943, to the late Louis Pascal & Barbara Nenno Chesner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1962-1968, and he also served as Commander of the American Legion Post 42. He was employed with ACME Electric Co. for several years until retirement, ultimately becoming the company's Vice President. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Kwiatkowski Chesner.

He is survived by his daughters: Dr. Constance Mulroy (Thomas, Jr.) and Patricia Smith (Chris), both of Lumberton, NC; three grandchildren: Matthew Smith, Kaelan Mulroy, and Aidan Mulroy; his brother, Frank Chesner of Olean, NY; his sisters, Connie Williams of Massachusetts and Joreen Cornell (James) of Olean, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2000 E. Elizabethtown Road in Lumberton, NC. Following the service, the family will receive friends and loved ones at the home of Dr. Constance and Thomas Mulroy, Jr.

Entombment will follow at a later date at St. Bonaventure Cemetery Mausoleum in Allegany, NY.
