Dona Rose Hicks Monroe, age 90, of Fairmont, NC passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Monroe was born January 11, 1932 in Moore County, NC. Mrs. Monroe taught school for over 31 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Hicks and Jettie Mullinax Hicks, and her husband, James Wesley Monroe.

She is survived by one son, Mike Monroe and wife Teresa of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Mary Lou Sealey and husband Fitzhugh of Fairmont, NC; one brother, Dennis Hicks and wife Linda Carol of Fairmont, NC; and seven granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022, from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 606 Church St. Fairmont, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in Monroe Family Cemetery in Eagle Springs, NC at 3:30 PM.
