Mrs. Dixie Lee Barnes, age 76, of Orrum died on Monday, January 25, 2010 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel in Fairmont, NC at 2:00 PM with Rev. Patty Cartrige and Rev. Tony Buffkin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvery Baptist Church Cemetery in Dillon, SC.

Family will receive friends Wednesday evening, January 27, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont and other times at the home, 1152 Foley Road in Orrum.

Ms. Barnes was born August 13, 1933 in Robeson County to the late Luther David Herring, Sr. and Maxine Owens Herring.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry William Barnes.

She is survived by a daughter, Shelia Sellers of the home; two grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers, William Herring of Lumberton, NC and Luther Herring of Hickory, NC; and three sisters, Johnnie Mae Haman, Ella Little and Jimmie Rogers all of Lumberton, NC.
