Mr. Dickie Ray Hester, age 55, of Lumberton passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Scotland County, NC on August 24, 1959 to the late Edward Lameus Hester and the late Ella Rae Hester. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Edward Craven Hester and Eddie Hester. He leaves to cherish his memories with his brother, Billy (Junior) Pittman and wife, Mary Pittman of Lumberton; sister, Debby Lynn Bledsoe and husband, Hugh Bledsoe of Lumberton; twin sister, Vickie Faye Hendren of Lumberton; two nephews, Donnie Pittman and Edward Craven Hester II; four nieces, Sharon Martin, Amy Hammonds, Stephanie Hinson, and Samantha Kahn; a host of great nieces and nephews; and also his special friends, Robin Howard and Charles Hendren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 2:oo PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bryan Burr officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton prior to the funeral service.
