Diantha Fields Parnell, of Lumberton, NC, died Saturday evening at Southeastern Hospice House. She was the daughter of the late Jewel Lassister Fields an Horace Grelly Fields. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Knox Parnell.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at 11 am at Floyd Memorial Chapel Lumberton, NC with Dr. David Elks officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadowbrook Cemetery.

Survivors include son and daughter in law, Dr. Michael and Melody Parnell of South Boston VA; daughter and son in law, Lynn and Johnny Smith of Lumberton, NC; 2 brothers, James Lee Fields of Fayetteville, NC and Horace \\"Josh\\" Grelly Fields and wife Gail Fields, of Boardman, NC; 4 grandchildren, Tara Renee Smith Palmer and husband, Mike Palmer; Megan Elizabeth Smith and Weston Moore Parnell; and a dear friend, Lane Lee of Fairmont, NC.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 7-9 p.m at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, Inc. of Lumberton, NC and at other times at the home of her daughter and son in law, Lynn and Johnny Smith, 493 Robin Road, Lumberton, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southeastern Hospice House, 1100 Pine Run Drive, Lumberton, NC.
