Mr. Dewey Hubert Herring, age 85, of Fairmont, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Robeson County on November 15, 1934 to the late Dewey Hobson Herring and the late Hazel Baysdon Herring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Elbert Herring, and two sisters, Jean Coker and Sybil Deese.

He is survived by his wife, Phyliss Cassell Herring of the home.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, March 7, 2020, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM in the chapel.

Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
