Mrs. Denver Jo Parker, age 68, of Lumberton, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. She was born in Robeson County on August 25, 1945. She was a longtime member of Long Branch Baptist Church and member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Britt's Fire Department and Lumberton Rescue. Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband, Roger Parker, of the home; her son, Boyd Walters of Boardman, NC; her sister, Caroline Rising and husband, Avery of White Oak, NC and one grandchild, Denver Walters and wife, Brooke. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 5:00-7:00PM at Long Branch Baptist Church in Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 7:00PM at Long Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Broadwell officiating. Burial will be on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11:00AM at Singletary Family Cemetery, Old Boardman Road in Bladenboro.
