Dena Rae Connor-Butler, age 55, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was born in Horry County, SC on January 29, 1959 to the late Sam and Louise Buffkin Connor. She worked as an architect for PCS Management. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey W. Butler; step-father, Albert Baker; and her uncle and aunt, Graddy and Anne McPhatter. Mrs. Butler is survived by, two daughters, Dee Connor Prevatte and husband, Matthew of the home, and Cherish Cox and husband, Michael of Lumberton; step-sons, Timothy Butler and Adam Butler of SC; sisters, Jan Baker of Lumberton, Lori Chambers of Trinity, and Teresa Nance and husband, Craig of Lumberton; grandchildren, Nathen Connor Prevatte, Gabby Cox, Caleb Cox, and Samuel Nance; special nieces, Destiny Daniels, Nikki English, Misty English, and Katie English; two dogs, Molly and Brownie; and special thanks to Wanda and Buddy Holmes and Tammy Taylor. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. David Anderson officiating. A time for visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:00-4:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.
