Delry Dale Hunt, 66, of Fairmont, NC departed this life on December 25, 2015. He was born on August 18, 1949 in Dillon, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Graddy Will Hunt and Gertrude Mitchell Hunt of Fairmont, NC. He is survived by one brother-like cousin, Mickey Mitchell of Lumberton, NC; three children, Michael Scott Walters (Kelly) of Florence, SC, Matthew Hensdale Hunt of Raleigh, NC and Meredith LeAnne Hunt, of Hope Mills, NC; two grandchildren, Kiersten and Luke Walters; a special friend, Dillie Ann Chavis of Pembroke, NC; and a host of relatives and friends.

Delry received an Associates' Degree in drafting from Robeson Technical Institute in 1969. Although, he worked with Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P) for many years, he also worked with Food Lion. However, he retired with the State of North Carolina Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer in March 2013. Delry was a very talented pianist, and was blessed to begin this gift at the age of nine. Throughout his life, he played the piano for several churches, and was involved in a few quartets. But for the past ten years or so, he played for Pleasant Hope Baptist Church every Sunday.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 3:00PM at Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 1:00-2:30pm at Piney Grove Baptist Church.
