Della Scott Oxendine, age 97, of Lumberton passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at her home.

She was born March 3, 1924 in Robeson County, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Scott and Rhowena Young Scott; her husband Norman Oxendine; four brothers, James, Wardell, Clayton and Hubert Scott; a son-in-law, Leo Hunt and a daughter-in-law Annie Neal Scott.

Ms. Della was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She attended First Assembly of God Church before her declining health and was the oldest church member. She always enjoyed cooking for her family. Over the years her home was opened to many family members and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories five sons, Paul Scott of Lumberton, Anthony "Butch" Oxendine and wife Clara of  Pace, Fla., Rev. Randolph Oxendine and wife Judy of Fairmont, Lucky Oxendine of the home and special friend Cookie Hunt of  Fairmont and Sammy Oxendine and wife Shelby of Lumberton; four daughters, Veronica Jean Hunt of Lumberton, Jan Oxendine and Joan Oxendine of the home, and Gloria O. "Jenny" Cummings and husband Anthony of Lumberton; sixteen grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; an adopted son, Donnie Hunt of Lumberton. and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 2-3pm at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont.

Funeral services will follow at 3pm at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel in Fairmont with Rev. Chris Locklear and Rev. Sam Locklear officiating.

Burial will follow in New Point Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank all the nurses, aides and other friends for the deeds shown to them during their Mom's sickness and their time of bereavement.
