Dean Lewis Davis, age 94, of 70 Primrose Drive, Fairmont passed away on November 19, 2010. He was a World War II veteran. Mr Lewis was retired from Ford Motors in Lima, OH and was also a member of Bloomingdale Baptist Church. He was also active in the Brotherhood.

He was preceded in death by Margaret Price Davis; his parents Lewis and Martha Jane Davis; 1 brother, Joel Davis, 5 sisters, Della Wallace, Estelle Campbell, Minnie Vernon, Dollie Franks, Margaret Fox and one stepson Timothy C. Vernon.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Davis, 1 son, Larry Dean and wife Janice Davis of Kannapolis, NC; 1 daughter Alice Jean Sloan and husband Virgil of Lima, OH; 1 stepson James Anthony Vernon of Fairmont, NC; 2 sisters, Billie Kerley of Hiddenites, NC and Annie Bell Osborne of Salisbury, NC; 9 grandchildren, Michael Sloan (Barb), Sherrill Davis (Philip) Smith, Daniel (Cindy) Sloan, Katherine Davis (Joe) Vinciguerra, Keith (Maureen) Davis, John (Linda) Sloan, Brian (Barby) Sloan, Timothy Michael Vernon and Madeline Johnson, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 22, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel in Fairmont with Revs. W.C. Baxley and Tommy Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM prior to the services at the funeral home.
