David Wilkins, age 91, of Lumberton passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Fayetteville VA Medical Center. David was born on December 11, 1933 in Robeson County to the late Frank Wilkins and Daisy Vendrick Wilkins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Michael Wilkins; grandson, Donavon Hathway; daughter-in-law, Patsy Wilkins; brothers: Bill, Earl, Glenn, and Hilton; and sisters, Marie Brisson and Merdice Wilkins.

David served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved to garden and enjoy the fruits of his labor. He was faithful in his attendance of Abe Branch Emmanuel Holiness Church. He was an avid reader.

David is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Smith Wilkins; daughters, Teresa Hathway and husband Dale and Charlotte Freeman and husband Teddy; sons, Timmy Wilkins, and Daryl Wilkins and wife Barbara; grandchildren: Crystal Delozier, Chassidy Paust, Justin Wilkins, Kayla Wilkins, Xanna Freeman, and Greyson Freeman; and beloved great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Abe Branch Emmanuel Holiness Church, 965 Marsh Road in Bladenboro, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
