David Earl Prevatte, 64, of Lumberton, NC, died June 3, 2024, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.

In his spare time, he loved to decorate, cook and spend time with his close family and friends, he will be known as someone who was loved by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Earl Prevatte and Mary Etta Ashworth; a nephew, Timothy "Timbo" Hunt; and a brother, Preston Ray Floyd.

He is survived by sisters, Annette Clark and Thelma Lou Hunt and husband, Timmie, all of North Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister-in-law, Kathy; nieces, Rosemary, Stephanie, and Jessica; a nephew, Anthony; great-nieces: Morgan, Jae'va, and Hope; great-nephew, Thomas (Ori) and Jacob; an aunt, Faye; and a host of special cousins and friends.

The visitation will take place prior to the service on Friday, June 7, 2024, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 East Fifth St., Lumberton, NC, 28358. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton, the Rev. George Connor officiating.
