Obituary

Darryl Lee Davis, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on August 5, 2025. He was born in Lumberton on November 13, 1955, and is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Edwin Davis and Dorothy Lee Davis.

Darryl was a loving husband, a wonderful father, the best "Papa," a caring brother, and a true friend to many. He was deeply dedicated to his family—always putting their needs above his own and making sure they felt loved, supported, and valued. Whether it was showing up for important moments or simply making time for a visit or a phone call, Darryl's presence was a steady source of strength, comfort, and joy.

He was a hardworking entrepreneur and natural-born salesman, with an infectious spirit and a heart full of adventure. Darryl embraced life fully—whether he was hunting, fishing, horseback riding, or diving into nearly any activity that piqued his curiosity. Nothing ever seemed off-limits to him; he was always willing to try anything once. His playful energy and genuine kindness made him someone people were drawn to, and his adventurous nature and unwavering loyalty left a lasting impression.

Above all, Darryl was a gentle soul who treasured his grandbabies, loved his family deeply, and carried a light with him that made the world feel a little brighter. His legacy of love, laughter, and fearlessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Cheryl Ann Davis; his daughter, Lee Ann Davis Walker (Kevin) of Lumberton; and three beloved grandchildren: Zoe Paige Roberts (Dalton), Emily Elizabeth Hall, and Ian Lee Hall. Darryl also leaves behind his siblings: Henrietta Nance (Cliff), Kenny Davis, Gary Davis (Elaine), and James Davis, as well as several nieces and nephews who adored him.
