Due to the weather the services for Mr. Oxendine have been changed from Wednesday, to Friday, January 24th. The times will remain the same.

Darnell "Chubby" Oxendine, age 66, of Fairmont, NC passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC.

He was born February 4, 1958 in Robeson County.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carson Oxendine; and a brother, Henry Allen "Bunker" Oxendine.

Darnell was a 1976 graduate of Fairgrove High School and retired from the Public Schools of Robeson County as a custodian.

He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Donovan Oxendine (Kyndra) of Chesapeake, VA. and Kyle Oxendine of Rowland, NC ; his mother, Emma "Mammy" Oxendine of Fairmont, NC; his companion, Rosina Hunt of Fairmont, NC; two brothers, Ray Carson Oxendine of Fairmont, NC and Eugene Oxendine (Maria) of Conway, SC; three sisters, Susan Locklear (Rudolph) of Rowland, NC, Sue Sanderson (Michael) of Fairmont, NC and Betty Locklear (Glenn) of Lumberton, NC; five grandchildren, Kyla, Meleny, Haisley, Kennon, and Kameron Oxendine; and  a great host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
