Daphne Dean Spruill Kilgore, age 89, of Rowland, NC, passed away at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC, on Thursday, January 9, 2025. She was born in Scuppernong, NC on August 3, 1935 to Ernest Richard Spruill and Della Bowen Spruill.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jack William Kilgore; siblings: Irma Armstrong, Carnell Spruill, and Ola Gray Jacobs; grandson, James Unverferth; and son-in-law, Ronald Deeringwater.

Daphne was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of 7th Street Church of Christ in Lumberton. Daphne enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and working puzzles. She especially loved the firemen on "Chicago Fire".

Daphne is survived by her daughters: Robin Sheldon and husband Jeff, Sandy Unverferth and husband Jerry, Beth Deeringwater, Ginger King and husband Robbie; grandchildren: Terrie Beth Hoffman, Laura Nichols, Melissa Unverferth, Dustin Deeringwater, and Joshua Deeringwater; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Audrey Richardson; and a host of nieces and nephews and a special fur friend, Nellie.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Seventh Street Church of Christ, 1807 E. 7th Street, Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Meadowbrook Cemetery, 400 E. 24th Street, Lumberton, NC.
