Danny William Smith, age 62, of Lumberton, died on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Robeson County on January 9, 1952 to the late Marvin T. and Lucy Singletary Smith. He worked for CP&L Electric as a control operator. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Luke Wingenbach. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Marie (Bunny) Smith of the home; a daughter, Kristy Wingenbach and husband, Andy of Lumberton; brothers, Russ Smith and wife, Jonia of Wilmington, and Mark Smith and wife, Linda of Sumter, SC; and grandchildren, Kylie and Seth Wingenbach. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Regan United Methodist Church with Rev. Gordon Caughill officiating. Burial will follow in Regan United Methodist Church Cemetery.
