Danny Thomas Chavis, age 67, of Lumberton, NC passed away on April 15, 2026.

Danny was born on February 27, 1959 in Robeson County to the late John Chavis, Jr. and Diamond Chavis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Carol Chavis.

Danny worked in construction. He was an avid sports fan, especially NASCAR. Danny was an excellent handy man and mechanic. He taught his children the fundamental basics of home and auto repair. Danny spent many hours fishing at local ponds, Lumber River, and Ocean.

Danny is survived by his wife, Angela; children, Taylor Dane Chavis, Gary, Amenda Chavis, Mary Beth Hunt, Daniel Lee Comer and wife, Samantha, Harley Locklear, Apache Locklear, and William Locklear; grandchildren, Coby Hunt, Jordyn Chavis, and Jamison Chavis; and six other grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A Time of Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC 28358.

To My Three Boys: Harley, Apache, and William: remember what I have always told you, "Take care of your mother, stay out of trouble, and finish school." To My Three Grandchildren: Coby, Jordyn, and, Jamison, "Keep my bed warm. Poppa loves you."
