Dale Council Thorndyke, 70, Lumberton died on Sunday, May 29, 2016.

A service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 3:00 PM Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Curran officiating.  Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery.

She was born in Robeson County on August 17, 1945 to the late Bernice Council and the late Emma Council.  She was retired from Nash Finch Company.

Surviving are her daughters, Tammy McCarty and husband Robert McCarty of Concord, NC; Belinda Threlkeld and husband Michael Threlkeld of Concord, NC; sisters Dot Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jean Edwards of Lumberton, NC, Peggy Hall of Clarksville, TN and a brother Al Council of Oveida, FL; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and a special friend James Thorndyke.

The visitation will be Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 1:00-3:00 PM before the service @ Floyd Mortuary and Crematory Inc ; 809 E Fifth St in Lumberton and other times at 207 Charmant Road, Lumberton.
