Mrs. Cynthia Little Pate, of 70, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2023 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.  She was born in Robeson County, NC on November 19, 1953 to the late John Pike Little and the late Elizabeth Ivey Little.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Lee Pate; four brothers, Maurice Little, Wilton Little, James Little and Michael Little and one sister, Marcella Taylor.

Great things come in "Little" packages; Cynthia was a great and Godly woman.

Cynthia was also a great mother who had a "givers" heart.  She had a special love for children.  She raised and helped raise many, sometimes even saving their lives – like her son Morgan Pate and grandson, Matthew Ian Pate.

Cynthia would go without in order to provide for other and was a believer in the power of prayer as she loved her Lord.

She is survived by her son, James Morgan Pate (William Thornton) of Leland; four sisters, Judy Tyndall, Joyce Small, Linda Townsend and Lou Ellen Davis, all of Lumberton and special sister-in-law, Miriam Little of Florence, SC; two grandchildren, Matthew Ian Pate and Zoey Jayne Strickland and many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

A time of visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 5:00-6:00PM at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 812 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

A memorial service will follow the visitation on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 6:00PM with Rev. Anthony Rich officiating.
