Mr. Curtis Chavis, Jr. age 74, of 15 Pretty Lane Lumberton passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11:00AM at Northside Church of God with Revs. James Earl Hunt, James W. Hunt and Dr. Bruce Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Chavis Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 7-9PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. He is survived by his wife, Annie L. Chavis of the home; six sons, Joey Jacobs, Bobby Chavis, Anthony Hunt, Billy Hunt, Mark Chavis and James Chavis; seven daughters, Helen Chavis Tilley, Annie Gail Chavis, Ginny Taylor, Nancy Oxendine, Sue Jones, Diane Chavis, and Barbara Sampson; four brothers, seven sisters; twenty four grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.
