Craven Dozier Lawson, age 84, of Bladenboro, NC, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Harborview Assisted Living in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Robeson County, NC on July 3, 1940 to the late Dozier & Fannie S. Lawson.

Craven will always be remembered as a man of great faith who loved his whole family, especially his children. In his spare time, he loved to go fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lawson; his brothers, James Novise Lawson and Debner Mitchell Lawson, and his stepson, Charlie Taylor.

He is survived by his son, Carl Lawson and girlfriend Leigh of Bladenboro, NC; his daughter, Rose Herring and husband Tony of Lumberton, NC; his stepsons, Jeff Taylor and wife Patty of Indiana and Bob Taylor of Evergreen, NC; his daughter-in-law, Cindy Taylor of Lumberton, NC; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; his sister, Sherry Lawson Britt and husband Ricky of Fairmont, NC; and special friends, Robert Moore and wife Josephine of Lumberton, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the West Family Cemetery, 232 West Road in Lumberton, NC.
