Core Lee Chavis Hunt, age 80, of Lumberton, NC passed away Friday April 5, 2024 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC.

She was born February 3, 1944 in Robeson County to the late Bartow Chavis and the late Corina Chavis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robin Hunt; five sisters, Annie Lee Oxendine, Rosie Lee Miller, Mary Helen Locklear, Bessie Chavis, and Lisa Butler; an infant brother.

She is survived by her a daughter, Ann Marie Hunt (boyfriend, Roger "Bo" Morgan) of Lumberton, NC; four sisters, Marie Chavis of Rowland, NC, Betty Oxendine, Joyce Lowery, and Frances Oxendine all of Orrum, NC, and a special friend, Francis Hunt and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A time of visitation will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church, 3047 McDonald Road, Fairmont, NC. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 4:00 PM. Burial will also follow in the church cemetery.
