Ms. Constance Dortheal "Dot" Fields, age 86, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on May 11, 1928 to the late Carlos Fields and the late Gladys Stallings Fields. She was a graduate of Lumberton High School and Kings College in Charlotte where she received a business degree. Dot was a member of First Baptist Church in Lumberton where she was very active with the Women's Mission Union and the Ladies Fellowship Class. She worked in many auto dealerships over the years as a Comptroller. After retirement, she was employed with McNeill's Jewelers in Lumberton. She leaves to cherish her memories with her two beloved sisters, Hilda Nell Fields, of the home and Sybil Fields Phillips of Fayetteville, NC; a devoted cousin, Vonnie Gay Allen of Lumberton and many other cousins. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 2:00-3:00PM at First Baptist Church in Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 3:00PM at First Baptist Church in Lumberton with Dr. David Elks officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.
