Constance Darling (Connie Darlene) "CD" Hess Kennedy, age 86, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024.  She was born in Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia on April 19, 1937 to the late George Elroy Hess and the late Pauline Ida Groves Wolfe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dwight Kennedy; three brothers: Howard Wolfe, Parley Elroy Hess, and Larry Smith; and two sisters, Mary Hess Grove and Barbara Hess Kendall.

She is survived by her two daughters, Patti Hinkle Russ (Everette) of Fayetteville and Elizabeth Kennedy Gurnee (Graham) of Lumberton; three grandchildren: Nichole Russ, John Gurnee, and Isabel Rose Gurnee; and three great-grandchildren: Kylie Faith Lubert, Kenzie Eve Lubert and Khloe Lynn Lubert.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2000 E. Elizabethtown Road in Lumberton, NC.
