Mr. Raymond Clegg Burns, 63, of Robeson County, NC, died Saturday, June 5, 2021. He was the son of the late John Robert "Bobby" Burns and the late Carlene Kinlaw Burns.

Known for his intelligence, sense of humor, and red hair, Clegg worked as an independent heating and air conditioning repairman. In addition to being a skilled mechanic, he was a true horseman, winning horsemanship awards in his youth. He was an engaging conversationalist, with a considerable intellect and curiosity about the world. He was also a member of Barker United Methodist Church.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Leigh Burns.

He is survived by a daughter, Ashley Burns Todd (Jimi Wilson) of Wilmington, NC; a son, Jonathan Clegg Burns (Tiffany) of West End, NC; four grandchildren: Evan Ilan Todd (11), Tilden Lucas Todd (7), Andrew Moore (20), and Carleigh Pearl Burns (10); a brother, John Robert Burns, Jr. (Debbie Hammonds); two sisters, Beth Burns Ward (Ricky) and Sarah Kelly Burns (John Capps); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to thank Carmel Dawson, Buddy Stephens, Tommy Stephens, and the employees at Forest Acres Grocery for their support.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 18, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
