Clayton Elmer Baxley, age 59, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023. He was born in Lumberton, NC on October 13, 1963, to Shelby Edwards Baxley and the late Chester Elmer Baxley.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Edwards Baxley.

He is survived by his mother, Shelby Edwards Baxley; his son, Jasper Clayton Baxley and wife Kayla; his grandchildren: Emily, Addison, John, and Arlo; his siblings: Lisa Adams (Bob) of Parkton, NC and Donna Lewis (Jerry) and Kimberly Baxley, both of Lumberton, NC; his companion of over 20 years, Rose Bethea, and four special young men and their families: Maurice Townsend, Troy Bethea III, Reginald Bethea, and Tylil Bethea; and numerous nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends.

A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
