Mr. Claude Floyd, 81, of Orrum, NC, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. He was born in Robeson County, NC on April 1, 1940 to the late Ervin Floyd and the late Eliza Floyd.

Along with his parents, Claude was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca "Becky" Rowland, and a brother, Ervin "Junior" Floyd, Jr.

Claude was best known by his family and friends as being a man that was loving and caring when it came to his family, friends, horses, and the outdoors. Claude was employed with NC Department of Transportation in Whiteville, NC for 25 years before he retired on July 1, 1995.

Claude is survived by his loving special friend of 40 years, Diane Wilkes Hardee of the home; two daughters, Penny Ellis (Scott) of Lumberton, NC and Suzanne Smith (Ernest) of Dublin, NC; two stepchildren, Keith Hardee (Donna) and Michelle Hardee Harrelson, both of Lumberton, NC; 10 grandchildren: Jamie Campbell (Ken), Jason Evans, Ashley Leggett (Ryan), Michael Baty (Terran), Miranda Horne (Shawn), Meghan Walsh, Jerrad Babson, Dylan Stone, Faith Harrelson, and Gabrielle Hardee; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lou Bodiford of Lumberton, NC.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Broadridge Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Orrum, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Floyd Family Cemetery in Orrum, NC with his dear friend, David Sumner, officiating.
