Obituary

Clarinda Norman Floyd November 9, 1940 - June 28, 2015 Clarinda ascended to heaven Sunday June 28th, 2015. She was the daughter of Rosa Lee and Carlyle(JC) Norman of Nichols, S.C. Such a sweet and caring person. Very bright and was president of her sophomore class in high school. She met Fred Floyd in Dillon S.C. and married in 1957. Gifted artistically and musically as well. She played by ear' and took delight in accompanying her daughter at numerous events on the piano as Janice sang. At a young age exhibited her artistic gifts in various mediums: charcoal, watercolor, pastel, ink. She was also very adept at creating' whimsical playable instruments out of materials on hand. Her three children- Janice, Van and Freddie meant the world to her throughout her life until her final breath. Clarinda sacrificed beyond measure for her children. Very particular and exacting in her manner of dress and in her' way of doing things just so' for herself and for others. Always made things extra special'. She loved animals, all flowers (gardenias, magnolias and roses were her particular favorites). Enjoyed outings to different restaurants- especially (cafeteria, oriental food and oysters) and reveled in the different flavors that titillated her taste buds. Loved to ride' around different places and take in the scenery'. Loved to visit the beach and walk/sit on the beach, play in the smaller' waves and go ride the rides' at Myrtle Beach. Could spend hours window shopping' in stores soaking up all the different colorful stimuli like a sponge. Going to movies and eating a little popcorn and something sweet'. Loved sweet iced tea. Clarinda is survived by her daughter Janice Waterman(Don) of Raleigh, sons Van Floyd of Melbourne, Florida and Freddie Floyd of Raleigh, her sister Debra(James)Liner of Boiling Springs, S.C., brother Jerry Norman of Orlando, Florida, niece Rebecca Bradley(Marc), nephews: Billy Norman(Laura)of Kernersville, N.C., and Jamie Liner of , and two precious grandsons Fred and Ryan of Willow Springs, N.C.
