Mr. Clarence Fred Howell, Sr., age 73, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at home. He was born in Bladen County, NC, on November 19, 1947 to the late Oscar Howell and the late Emma Jackson Howell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he was also formerly employed with Nash Finch Co.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Howell and Bobby R. Howell, and a great-grandson, Jeremiah Nagle.

He is survived by his wife, Clementeen "Tena" Sanderson Howell of the home; two sons, William G. Howell and wife Melissa of Lumberton, NC and Clarence F. Howell, Jr. of Surfside Beach, SC; a daughter, LyTena R. Howell Hunt and husband Demont of Lumberton, NC; nine grandchildren: Rusty S. Nagle, William G. Nagle, Clarence F. Nagle, Brian A. Phillips, M. Madison Phillips, Kristena M. Phillips, Kristopher C. Phillips, Harlan Hunt, and Cash Hunt; seven great-grandchildren: Wesley Nagle, Asher Nagle, David Chavis, Nala R. Oxendine, William Nagle, Stephen Nagle, and Tyus Inman and a sister, Patricia Landrum and husband Bobby of Ashe, NC.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, February 13, 2021, from 1:00-2:00 PM at First Apostolic Church, 241 Henry Berry Road in Pembroke, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Earl Chavis officiating.

Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC with Rev. Gary Strickland and Rev. Bailey Strickland officiating.
