Clara Baxley Rowell, 78, of Shady Grove, FL died Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC with her family by her side. She was born in Robeson County, NC on October 18, 1929. She was one of four children of the late Milton Lee Baxley and Sallie Lovett Baxley Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruel \\"Red\\" Rowell of Shady Grove, FL Dec 2, 2004, and by her sister Estelle Davis of Lumberton, NC.

She is survived by her two brothers, Charlie \\"Buddy\\" Baxley of Fayetteville and Joseph Edward Baxley of Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Rowell is also survived by three nieces and three nephews, Robin McCance of Greensboro, NC, Jeanette Gray of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Kimberly Bone of Aberdeen, NC, Michael Lee Davis of Baltimore, MD, Charlie Baxley, Jr. of Hope Mills, NC and Bruce Baxley of Fayetteville, NC.

The funeral service will be Friday, May 23, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends Friday following the services at the Chapel. Interment will take place in Shady Grove, FL at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
