Claire Louise Walters Connor, age 84, of Lumberton, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born July 23, 1933 in Lumberton to the late William Leslie Walters and the late Eula Bodiford Walters. Mrs. Connor was formerly employed with Burlington Mills. She was a longtime member of Oakton Baptist Church who loved her church family and was a dedicated choir member for over 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Julius Layton Connor; and a sister, Bonnie Fowler.

Mrs. Connor is survived by her children: Tommy Lamb and wife Angie of Lumberton, Debra Ward and husband Douglas of Fayetteville, Beverly Herring and husband Jim of Fayetteville, Donna Davis and husband Jeff of Lumberton, and Dickie Lamb of Lumberton; eight grandchildren: Melissa, Lorie, Heather, Justin, Brittany, Tedric, Christopher, and Chaz; seven great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Evan, Josie, Paris, Deanna, T.J., and C.J.; and one sister, Frances Dent of Lumberton.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the Chapel with Rev. Mitch Tyner officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Faith Mausoleum in Lumberton.
