Christine Crawford Winberry, age 90, of Lumberton, NC passed away at her home on Thursday, February 19, 2015. She was born in Ferry, NC on June 26, 1924 to the late Augustus and Georgie Fike Crawford. She previously worked as a teacher for the North Carolina Public Schools and a very active member of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church for many years. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Herman Stanford Winberry, Sr. Mrs. Winberry is survived by a son, Stan Winberry of Lumberton; a daughter, Lisa Winberry Claydon of Jacksonville; a sister, Shirley Thompson of Spartanburg, SC; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Chestnut Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Little officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
