Ms. Christine Sampson Carter, age 93, of Lumberton, NC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 5, 1932 in Robeson County to the late Walter Sampson and the late Lilly Lewis Sampson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, James "Pete" Carter; three sons, Walter Garry Carter, James Edward Carter, and Randy Mearse Carter; two brothers, Margolius Sampson and Pem Chavis; and a great granddaughter, Latoya Sampson.

She leaves to cherish her memories four sons, Carlton Sampson (Valerie) of Pembroke, NC, Ricky Carter and Johnny Carter (Jennifer) both of Lumberton, NC and Ronnie Carter of the home; three daughters, Debra Carter Locklear (Buck) and Rhonda Carter Hunt (Weldon) both of Lumberton, NC and Nancy Carter Reynolds (Larry) of Cumming, Ga.; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty -eight great grandchildren, and thirteen great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc., Fairmont.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
