Charlotte R. Mitchell, age 84, of Fairmont, NC passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 at Levine & Dickson Hospice in Charlotte, NC. Ms. Mitchell was born in Cordova, NC in Richmond County on Wednesday, August 16, 1939.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Weldon Rainwater and Lucy Grice Rainwater; her husband, Bernice Mitchell; brothers, Zack Rainwater and Bill Rainwater.

Ms. Mitchell retired as a supervisor in the Robeson County Department of Social Services. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She was very appreciative for the care and support shown to her by her Murphy Street neighbors and her church family at Fairmont First Baptist.

She is survived by her son Bernie Mitchell and wife Claudia of Charlotte, NC; daughter Becky Helms and husband Tim of High Point, NC; two grandsons, David Mitchell and Nick Helms of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Betty Yates, Vivian Freeman and Judy Walers.

Graveside Services will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont. The family will receive friends after the Graveside Service at Floyd Funeral Services.
