Charles Edward Powell, Jr., age 43, of Lumberton, NC died at Southeastern Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. He was born in Butler County, OH on April 8, 1974 to the late Charles Powell, and Sherrill Chappell Powell. He worked as a Public Safety Coordinator for City Council Precinct 4, and he is a retired Deputy Sheriff in Tennessee and Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Dana James Powell.

Mr. Powell is survived by his mother, Sherrill Chappell Powell of the home; sisters Cheryl Mousseau (Donald) and Jessica Parker (Shaun) all of the home; a special uncle and best friend, J.R. Chappell of Lumberton; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Michael Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery.
