Mr. Charles Dennis Pope, 79, of Bladenboro, NC, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at his home. He was born in Bladen County, NC on June 21, 1943 to the late Lonnie Gaston Pope and the late Mary Ada Pait Pope. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later worked as a Shipping/Receiving Clerk for Buckeye.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Andrew Pope; 5 siblings: Zella Pope Guyton, Gertrude Pope Guyton, Velma Pope Phillips, William S. Pope, and Lonnie Clayburn Pope; and a step-grandson, Kyle Bullard.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy McKnight Pope of the home; his son, Michael Pope (Brenda) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; 3 grandchildren: Zachary (Meaghan), McKnight, and Porter Pope; a great-granddaughter, Henley Catherine Pope; and a sister, Patricia Ann Pope Blackmon (Ken) of Bladenboro, NC.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 5:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5 ^th Street in Lumberton, NC with Rev. Bobby Carden and Rev. Howard Allbright officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends and loved ones at the funeral home.
