Mr. Charles Wesley Britt, Sr., age 71, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Fayetteville VA Medical Center. He was born in Robeson County on May 18, 1944 to Colon Allen and Bessie Edwards Britt. He served honorably in the US Army while stationed in Vietnam from 1966-1967. He was formerly employed with Scarborough Building Supply for 25 years & with Woodmen of the World Insurance for 10 years. He was a long-time member of Antioch Baptist Church, serving as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for 47 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Chuck Britt.

Charles is survived by his wife, Juanita Coleman Britt of the home; 1 son, Jeff Britt and wife Leslie and their son, Noah Chuck Britt, all of Lumberton; 3 brothers: Buddy Britt of Concord, Boyd Allen Britt of Abbottsburg, and Terry Barfield of Concord; and 2 sisters: Jewell Britt Spence and Coleen Britt Bullock, both of Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016, at 7:00 PM Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Meadows and Rev. Darrin Wright officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Burial will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memory Gardens.
