Charles Earnest Bartley, age 60, of Snellville, GA passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 29, 2014. He was born in Robeson County, NC on January 15, 1954 to the late Frank and Almena Oxendine Bartley. He was a self-employed roofer. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, I.V. "Boot" Freeman, James Dalton Bartley, and Willie Edward Bartley; and two sisters, Linda Branch and Lucy Bartley. Mr. Bartley is survived by his girlfriend of thirty years, Brenda Wilson of Beaufort, SC; sons, Reco Bartley of Lumberton, Charles Earnest Bartley Lee, Jr. of Snellville, GA, Chad Wilson of Beaufort, SC, and Charles Craig Bartley of Beaufort, SC; daughters, Tammy Bartley Chavis and Charlene E. Lee both of Lumberton; brothers, Kenny Bartley of Moyock, Samuel D. Bartley of Lumberton, and Glenn Ray Bartley of Pensacola, FL; sisters, Arminda Oxendine of Rowland, Louise Jacobs of Charlotte, Brenda Ratliff of Jonesville, VA, Carolyn Bartley of Fayetteville, and Ruthie Jane Bartley; twenty-four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; special friends, Helena Bartley and Connie Hunt; and special thanks to Tanya Ramirez and Linda Salazar. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Gary Deese and Rev. Linnie Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
