Cathy Johnson Adams, age 56, of Lumberton, wife of Paul Adams for 38 years, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at her home. She was born on December 1, 1955 in Robeson County to the late Felton Johnson and Carlene Stead. She formerly worked as a restaurant owner.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Vernon Stead and one brother, Stephen Stead.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her mother, Carlene Stead, of Lumberton; one son, Paul Adams, Jr. and fiancé, Tracy Lassiter, of Lumberton; two daughters, Nicole Fairfax and husband, Jason, of Lumberton and Caitlyn Adams, of the home; two brothers, Gerald Johnson, of Lumberton, and Peter Roy Stead, of Georgia; three sisters, Patricia Rice, of Lumberton, Judy Adams, of Fayetteville, and Debra Andrews, of Lumberton; and two grandchildren, Paul Wade Adams III and Madalynn Nicole Fairfax.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of Mrs. Carlene Stead, 92 Delmar Street, Lumberton and at the home of Mrs. Betty Rogers, 142 Dresden Avenue, Lumberton.

A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Charles Brust and Jason Fairfax officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
