Cary William Edge of Shallotte and formerly of Lumberton, died Sunday, June 16, 2013 in Shallotte. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joe Bounds officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson Swamp Cemetery in Lumberton. Mr. Edge was a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew William Edge and Nora Herring Edge. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Good Edge of Maryland; daughter, Carolyn Edge of Hope Mills; sons, James Cary Edge and wife, Juana of Biglerville, PA, Claude Edge and wife, Billie of Hagerstown, MD, Jerry Edge and wife of Delaware, Donald Edge and wife of Little River, SC, Leon Edge and wife, Teresa of Calabash and Cary Edge of Maryland; sisters, Neilly Bryant and Smithie Cox both of Lumberton; brother, Watis Andrew Edge of Calabash; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 1:00 until 3:00 prior to the service at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton.
