Carson Oxendine, age 80, of Fairmont, NC died on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. He was born in Robeson County, NC on March 9, 1932 to the late Luther Oxendine and the late Sarah Oxendine. He previously owned his own upholstery shop.

Mr. Oxendine is survived by his wife, Rachel Oxendine of the home; three sons, Jimmy Oxendine of Shannon, Leon Oxendine and Micky Oxendine both of Rowland; four daughters, Eva Jane Locklear of Rowland, Jackie Wages of King, Tywona Cortes of Fairmont, Anna Deese of Fairmont and Kayla Locklear of Lake View, SC; a sister, Estelle Hunt of TX; twenty-seven grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Dogwood Baptist Church in Rowland with Rev. Bobby Burns, Rev. Kenny Mitchell, and Rev. Roger Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Dogwood Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont.
