Carson Junior Norton, age 48, died on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his residence.  He was born in Robeson County on July 20, 1967 to Mrs. Ernie Norton Britt, and the late Kit Carson Hammonds.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Annie Bell Hammonds; his sister, Fannie Bell Sampson; and father-in-law, Reverend Richard Hunt Jr.

Mr. Norton is survived by his wife, Sandra Hunt Norton; one daughter, Tiffany Pearson; sons, Michael Pearson, Jayden Hunt, and Vincent Locklear; brothers, Johnny and Donnie Norton, Chris Scott, and Carlos Hammonds; sisters, Margie Carver, Linda Sanderson, Jessica Hunt, Brittany and Courtney Hammonds; grandchildren, Mya, Kymani, Kylan, Derek, Jeremiah, and Isaiah; maternal grandmother, Margaret Norton; his beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and a very special aunt, Mary Ann Williamson.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Smyrna Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Robeson Memorial Park.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM at the church.
