Mrs. Carolyn Rose Rowland McCartney, age 74, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at UNC Health – Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on January 15, 1947 to the late Charles Wilson "C.W." Rowland and the late Hattie Lucille Anderson Rowland. She was formerly employed as an administrative assistant for Prevatte Auto Parts.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Lee McCartney, and her daughter, Kimberly McCartney Branch.

She is survived by two sons, Rodney McCartney and James "Jake" McCartney and wife Penny, all of Lumberton, NC; four grandchildren: Joshua Branch, Zachary McCartney and wife BreAnna, Tyler McCartney, and Dillon McCartney; a great-granddaughter, Aubreigh B.; three sisters: Connie Wilcox and Marilyn Phillips, both of Lumberton, NC, and Jewel Lennon of Bladenboro, NC; and a special pet, Mollie.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, March 6, 2021, from 1:00-2:00 PM at West Lumberton Baptist Church. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Rick Foreman officiating. Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
