Mrs. Carolyn Sue Chavis Hunt, age 70, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023. She was born in Robeson County, NC on June 25, 1953, to the late Luther & Rosie Lee Hunt Carter.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, David Lee Chavis and Sonny Boy Hunt, and her brothers, Wallace Carter and Gregory Lynn Carter.

She is survived by her daughters: Carolee Hunt (Joey Jacobs) of Red Springs, NC and Chenoa McNeill (Jamie) and Rosemary Locklear (Kaylean), both of Lumberton, NC; 7 grandchildren: Danielle Feliciano, DeAngelo Chavis, Cody Wayne Graham, Shi-Taylor Marie Hunt, Marcus Cage Locklear, Miracle Rain Jacobs, and Amari Robinson; her great-grandson, Harry Daxson Emanuel; her brother, Lacy Jack Carter (Lillian) of Lumberton, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 12:00-1:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jeffrey Hunt and Pastor Kenny Locklear officiating. Burial will follow at Oxendine Family Cemetery on Rennert Road in Lumberton, NC.
