Carolyn Spence Floyd, age 84, of Fairmont, NC passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Hospice of Scotland County in Laurinburg, NC. Carolyn was born in Kinston, NC on October 29, 1941 to the late William Clinton Spence and Ina Mae Sutton Spence. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Rowland Floyd, III.

Carolyn was a fixture at First Baptist Church of Fairmont where she worked as Financial Secretary, sang in the Chancel Choir, taught the 70 to Heaven Sunday School Class for seniors and was part of the Handbell Choir. She looked forward to the "Girls Trips" to the beach. Carolyn enjoyed reading Historical Romance Books in her free time.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter; Dawn Shadoan, son; Patrick Rowland Floyd, IV; grandsons; Alex Shadoan, Eric Shadoan, sister; Linda Sue Seagle.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Fairmont First Baptist Church, 416 S. Main Street, Fairmont, NC 28304.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Fairmont First Baptist Church, 416 S. Main Street, Fairmont, NC 28304.
