Carol Paulus Gniadek, 73, of Lumberton, NC died on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Erie County, NY on July 19, 1938 to the late Charles Lee Robinson and the late Bettie Jane Paulus. She formerly worked as a kindergarten teacher for St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church. She was the founder of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church and a member of Golden Flock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bettie Paulus.

Mrs. Gniadek is survived by her husband, John Gniadek of the home; two sons, John Gniadek and wife Yong of Chesapeake, VA and Jeff Gniadek and wife Marsha of Hickory; two daughters, Teresa Venters of Lumberton and Karen Gniadek of the home; a brother, Harry Paulus of Bear Creek; two sisters, Mary Jo Evans of Milner, GA and Kathy Fortin of Melbourne, FL; and seven grandchildren, Johnny and wife Sarah, Jennifer, Josh, Ally, Molly, Jim, and Andy.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church with Father John Gillespie officiating.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
