Ms. Carmelita Bullock Barnes, age 84 of Orrum, NC passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

Ms. Barnes was born April 12, 1940 to the late John Bullock and the late Dulah Mae Anderson Bullock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Gene Barnes; a son, Jason Derek Barnes; two brothers, Holmes and Bruce Bullock; six sisters, Odessa Hayes, Virginia Britt, Elise Grimsley, Bernice Sanderson, Katie Rich, and Marjorie Hester.

Carmie will always be remembered for her wonderful cooking and her artistic flair. She also loved dancing in her younger years.

She is survived by a son, Norman D. Barnes (Teresa) of Chadburn, NC; a daughter, Vanessa Edwards of Red Springs, NC; a brother, Lester Bullock (Mary) of Lumberton, NC; two sisters, Linda Roper of Arizona and Phyllis Allen (George) of Lumberton, NC; seven grandchildren, Justin, Chelse, Ransey, Jason, Steven, Sarah and Caroline; eight great-grandchildren, Nolan, Adilyn, Hudson, Brody, Rebecca, Alysah, Mikey, and Adelyn and  a host of other relatives and friends.

A time of visitation will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc. 1549 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont, NC.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel in Fairmont, NC.

Burial will follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery, across from the funeral home.
