Carlton Herring, age 87, of Fairmont, NC passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton. He was born in Robeson County, NC on August 9, 1926 to the late William and Lummie Bass Herring. He was a farmer. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Victorine Herring. Mr. Herring is survived by two sons, Larry Carlton Herring of Laurinburg and Lynwood Herring of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Larry Wesley Herring, Jamie Britt, and Amanda Bass; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A visitation was held on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc., 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont.
