Carey Johnson Collins, age 73, of Lumberton, NC died at his home on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.  He was born in Robeson County, NC on July 10, 1944 to the late Frank E. Collins and the late Dolly Blackmon Collins.  He was previously employed by the State of NC as a Chief Counselor 16B Juvenile Court.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ertle Collins and Roland Collins; and a sister, Edna Collins Musselwhite.

Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Lena Nunnery Collins of the home; sons, Carey "Joey" Collins (Beth) of Lumberton and Stephen Pierce Collins (Joan) of Orrum; daughter, Tracy Collins McCormick (Derek) of Lumberton; sisters, Vera Collins Sealey of Fairmont, Carolyn Collins Lovin of Lumberton, Barbara Collins Sealey of Fairmont, and Frankie Collins Britt of Lumberton; and grandchildren, Hayleigh McCormick, Courtney McCormick, Connor Collins, Trista Collins, and Katie Collins.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mitch Tyner and Rev. David Kelly officiating.  A time for visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.
